Your Glens Falls Fern Green bandana features the six pronged "snowflake" logmark registered by David Roberts, and the nine pronged logmark registered by his son, Hiram Roberts. Both marks were registered on the same day in 1843 in Queensbury, New York.

The family had moved from Connecticut to Glens Falls shortly after the improvements to the Glens Falls Feeder canal created an economical way to utilize the Hudson River for both power and transportation.

Prior to that the lumber from upstream could not effectively be moved downstream to the markets in Albany and New York City without costly overland transit to bypass the falls at Glens Falls and the falls at Sandy Hill (renamed Hudson Falls in 1910).
