Many of the early logging companies were small operators. Others, like Wright and Ketchum, who used the coffee pot mark on your Stovetop Red Bandana, logged thousands of acres. By 1886 Wright and Ketchum owned over 10,000 acres of timberland near Midland, Michigan. The company had ten lumber camps connected to each other with the latest technology--telephone lines.
